Bonjour, Friends and admirers,
I’m back once again to flaunt my beauty, sophistication and impeccable taste. My maman, who is from the Côte d'Azur, always used to quote me the late Colonel Gaddafi, “a woman shouldn’t work too hard, it ruins her beauty,” she also advised me to have a few items by Chanel. That's my code. So, anyone who lands Bobby Deen, the fetching son of Paula Deen, can spend more time beautifying herself. While Bobby and the Queen of Southern Cuisine, busy themselves in the kitchen, preparing Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding and Chocolate Mousse Pie. It’s a win win situation, as you Americans would say.
Bobby’s new show, NOT MY MAMA’S MEALS on the Cooking Channel is a must see! Especially for all those overweight mesdames, and as you know, that’s anyone who is heavier than me. Each week he takes a few of Paula’s famous southern dishes and translates them into a lighter fare. Interpreting that Krispy Kreme Bread Gâteau into a Fresh Fruit Bread Gâteau and the Chocolate Mousse Pie into a less calorie ridden Frozen Chocolate Pie, magnifique! Plus, his experiencedmaman, is the official taster, and she thought everything was absolument délicieux.
Watching Paula and Bobby, I remembered my own manan’s bouillabaisse, which I would have with a petite baguette and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, followed by my maman’s specialty; discussing the importance of being good at feminine things, so that I can catch a man. Then, a nice morceau oftarte tatin followed by an espresso. Although that’s my customary cuisine, I am happy to take a bite out of this slice of Americana. Especially, if it’s not fattening, cute and has a sexy southern accent! I love American men. Oh…and the feeling is mutual! The first thing Bobby said to me when we spoke was “First, I love your accent, I wasn’t expecting that!” Ooh la la, don’t be jealous girls. Bobby Deen was one of People magazines 50 most eligible bachelors. I was about to ask him if he was still available, but then he told me that his girlfriend is actress Katy Mixon. It’s not fair! What she got that I haven’t got? That goes to you too, George Clooney. I got a load of bikinis from Ashley Paige’s new collection that probably wouldn’t fit them! So anyway, he first sawMixon on HBO’s Eastbound and Down. “I saw this beautiful woman with a southern accent.” Et Alors, I’m more beautiful with a French accent! He revealed, “If I could meet this woman, I’d stop what I’m doing right now.” What, being an eligible bachelor? One day, Katy Mixon magically appeared at Paula Deen’s house. His dutiful maman asked her, “are you single?’ and Katyreplied, “Well yeah, I am.” I asked Bobby if she was skillful in the kitchen “She is eager to learn cooking. Not a great cook, but a great actress.” Hmmm…that’s one feminine thing she can’t do,tant pis. I suppose she doesn’t need to anyway.

I’m learning electric guitar so I can impress the boys, and Bobby is an aspiring musician too! He has eight guitars, and is a fan of Jerry Garcia. That makes him a Deadhead like my favorite commander-in-chief Bill Clinton! “That’s all I ever listen to, his imperfections appeal to me.”Bobby likes imperfections, but I don’t have any! Well...I can make some up. Bobby also lifts weights and is a master at jujitsu. That would come in handy for carrying my shopping and fighting his way through the Neiman Marcus sale, so I can nab that petite Chanel dress, parfait!
Bobby Deen is a Renaissance man, and his new show is entertaining and informative. I asked him if he had a final comment. “It’s good to exercise like that, if you are eating. Yes, it’s good to keep the fires burning.” Oh oui Bobby it is…
